Your information

Privacy Policy

Effective September 20, 2026

Court Film is a service, operated by David Aintablian, for filming recreational volleyball from several phones at once, replaying it, and tagging it afterwards. This page says what it keeps, what it does with it, and who can see it.

What we collect

Your account. Sign-in is handled by Clerk. We receive the email address, name and sign-in provider you use, and an account id that matches you to your matches.

Your matches. The name and date you give a match, the people you put on its rosters, and every tag you make. Roster names are whatever you type — usually other people’s names — and the same person can be linked across your matches so their totals follow them.

Video. Footage recorded by phones during a live session, replay clips cut from it, and any video files you upload to a match. Uploaded files are stored exactly as sent. Video inevitably shows people who are not the account holder; see Filming other people below.

Technical records. Ordinary server logs — addresses, times, the pages and endpoints requested — kept briefly for operating and debugging the service.

How it’s used

Only to run the service: carrying live video between the devices in a session, cutting and storing replays, keeping your matches and their footage where you can find them, computing statistics from your tags, and serving highlight links you make. There is no advertising, no profiling, and nothing is sold.

Who can see what

Matches are private to the account that made them. A match id from another account reads as a match that does not exist.

A session code admits anyone who has it, while the session is live. A device that joins as a camera sends its video into the session; a device that joins as a display can request and watch replays. Cameras never see each other’s video. When the session ends, the code stops admitting anyone.

A highlight link is public to whoever holds it. That is what a highlight is for. Anyone with the link can watch those moments from every angle without an account, until the highlight or its match is deleted.

Service providers

The service runs on Vercel, stores matches in a Neon Postgres database, stores video and clips in Vercel Blob or an S3-compatible bucket, carries live video and recordings through LiveKit, and uses Clerk for sign-in. Each processes data only to provide its part of the service. No personal information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Filming other people

You are responsible for having permission to film the people in your footage and to upload it here. Do not record or upload footage where you do not have that permission. If you appear in footage on this service and want it removed, contact us and we will work it out with the account holder.

Retention and deletion

A match and everything attached to it — its tags, rosters, highlights, uploaded footage and everything its cameras recorded — stays until you delete the match, and then all of it is removed from storage together. Replay clips from a live session are kept for as long as the deployment is configured to keep them. To delete your account and every match in it, contact us.

Children

Court Film is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Footage of youth games is the responsibility of the adult who films it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
